Big Oil Bad….Big Mercedes Good
Seattle’s Jekyll/Hyde Personality Disorder………..
Every state has its unusual areas….where anything goes and the extremes of both political parties flourish. But when you allow these areas to manipulate or control an entire State, all common sense goes out the window. That’s why Californians smile knowingly when the subject of Berkeley comes up, as you would when speaking of an odd uncle. He’s part of the family…but no one ever asks him for advice.
And we all know the people that would ask him for advice and we avoid them….it’s a litmus test.
Think of it this way…..these areas are like a 13 year old. Full of ideas and very little common sense and since you wouldn’t allow a 13 year old to decide your family’s future….you shouldn’t allow the most liberal [which is code for irresponsible] cities to decide it either.
And that’s where we get to Washington State. This State…so full of promise and good people….. has allowed itself to be hijacked for way too long by the crazy uncle….Seattle
The closet elitists and champagne socialists that over populate Seattle make sure that they are the voice of Washington. They are the vegetarians that are driving a car with a leather interior. They are against slavery and yet wear diamonds and eat chocolate.
They are the people that only donate money when they are at a charity auction that hands you a glass of, what else, Champagne, when you walk in.
The word hypocrite comes to mind……………
Now the one thing that has always appalled me about Seattle is that it isn’t just the panhandlers that are rude, and I mean really rude, it’s also the locals. I chalked it up to the trough feeding entitled-to-everything mentality that seems to be the modern liberal stance.
So, as you can imagine, I was a little nervous when I was preparing to go back down to my home state of California …to Humboldt county no less, known for it’s very liberal attitudes, to help my oldest son move. Well, I didn’t really help him move, but that’s a story for later…………
After living in Washington for years now….as a hostage I might add……I just assumed that the nutty liberals would be the same [or worse] down there.
Wrong.
In Arcata even the bums were friendlier than the shopkeepers in Seattle….isn’t that sad? I had forgotten what it was like to have someone look you in the eye and smile warmly……and sometimes it was even the bums doing it.
And contrary to what you might have heard from other people the only thing wafting on the air was a hint of patchouli every now and then. Boy…that sure brought back memories. Both at the university and in the town square I watched people of every kind you could imagine…from blonde dreadlocks to young “hippies” in old VW buses….to old people…and everyone was friendly. They looked you in the eye and smiled. No shakedowns, no aggressive bums….and it was clean. Yes…it’s a very small town, especially when compared to Seattle. But they’ve been doing liberal, really liberal for years, and I guess they have it down to a fine science. I even saw a young hippy guy driving a car with a George Bush sticker on it. Yes … I did look at it closely suspecting that underneath it would say SUCKS….but it didn’t. And yes, I have also considered the fact that it might have belonged to his grandmother. I’m not that naïve.
Maybe Seattle is just having growing pains…but I doubt it.
Just like some feminists adopt the most obnoxious habits of the worst men to prove they are really feminists….Seattle-ites seem to think that they need to be rude and in your face to show you just how liberal they are. The liberal sheeple…they drive the same cars, drink the same drinks….and they haven’t had an original thought in years, if at all.
And my personal pet peeve is that horrid holiday song…”Driving in Seattle’s Latte Land”…….. if that doesn’t say it all I don’t know what does.
So I had this great thought. Since the powers that be in Seattle love to do studies about everything [without ever actually doing anything….think Monorail] maybe they should send a group of their most enlightened citizens down to Arcata to learn how to be really, really liberal and polite at the same time.
This I have to see…………..

TJ, is spin your God given talent, or you are just incapable of understanding what you read.
You play this same game at horseass.org. as well I noticed. If this is how the liberals plan on winning the election contest, Gregoire will need to start packing. It doesn't make sense why the Dem Attorneys haven't asked you, Goldy or Don to assist on the case. LOL

First of all…who said anything about Republicans? What I was referring to, as I’m sure you already know, but good try, are the liberals that are against slavery and child labor but eat chocolate and wear diamonds, are vegetarians but drive a car with a leather interior, are against Big Oil but love big Mercedes….in other words hypocrites.
Phony liberals…..and Seattle is full of them. If you are going to talk the talk, then you had better be willing to walk the walk. If you are going to lecture me on the street about how bad it is to eat meat for example….then I sure better not look down at your feet and see Birkenstocks made from leather……
See what I mean?
And ,you know, I don't really know anyone that is for slavery..........do you?

I am glad you understand the post torridjoe Ha Ha .Its not the Republicans that keep advocating increasing welfare or making the standards for women and minorities different than it is for everyone else (just another form of slavery) but the democrats. I would say yes the Republicans do wear diamonds but they purchase them with hard earned disposable income and not on credit.

So should I infer from your comments that Republicans are FOR slavery--or that they don't wear diamonds??
