Sad State Of Affairs……….

Well…what a sad state Washington is right now. As I traveled across Washington, Oregon, and into northern California one subject kept coming up. What in the world is wrong with the people in Washington State?
At least someone is having a good laugh out of this….too bad it’s at Washington’s expense. But maybe, just maybe it is so very deserved.
What do you say to people that just can’t understand how a State could be held hostage by one less than enlightened county? How do you even begin to explain how King County can control everything….and do nothing well at the same time?
And why the citizens seem to not care? I have explained over and over that the citizens do care very much….but their voices are drowned out by the ever whiney and always wrong loons in King County. But people always ask…what about all the felons that voted? How were Democratic Party workers allowed to go door to door and only check signatures on people that voted for Gregoire? Why were there more votes than voters in King County? What about the dead people that voted? This is a favorite for jokes, by the way. Too bad it’s not that funny anymore……..
I have now heard Washington compared to Chicago more times than I can count.
And as much as I hate to admit it…they are right.
People are following this closely and they are interested…and really, really glad that they don’t live in Washington. They don’t see it getting better anytime soon….and frankly, at this point, neither do I………
Unless everyone stands together and demands that this travesty of an election is overturned and it is done over, this will be Washington’s legacy for a very long time to come.
Is Christine Gregoire really worth that?

Hey Kevin....no problem, and no apology necessary. I've had snarkier.....
I enjoy your site by the way, we may have a difference of political views, but your site is very well done.

My profound apologies, CG.

This is only my second time visiting here and I had no idea that you run your comments in reverse order. I don't think I've ever been to another blog that does that. Not that there's anything wrong with it, mind you. I just ass-u-me(ed) that the post at the bottom was TJ's and that nobody had responded since I didn't see any posts below it.

Again, my sincere apology for the snarky, and incorrect, comment.

Carla,
Wow...where to begin? No evidence of malfeasance?Come on now, you are putting me on.....
"Dead people voted in some inordinate amount?"....Carla, any level of "dead people" voting is not ever going to be okay in my book. Especially when signatures match...maybe you have lower standards than I do.
"No fraud, just bookkeeping issues"....not trying to be rude here, but do you ever research the issues for yourself? And the people that were commenting about what was going on here were hardly ill informed. And frankly, if you weren't worried you wouldn't be getting your knickers in such a knot and trying to shut people up....you overplay your hand.....
This will all be played out in court and then we will all find out hopefully what really happened. Neither you nor I know who won the Governor's race...and frankly I find it very curious that you would not want to know. That smacks of being more than a little partisan.I can honestly say that if this were reversed I would be saying the exact same thing I am now.....
It's called intellectual integrity.

This post makes no sense.

Dead people voted in some inordinate amount? From what I've read and researched...that didn't happen. There were some people who accidentally sent in a recently deceased spouses absentee ballot or signed on the wrong line in the poll book. But there is no evidence of fraud there.

The voter/ballot variance issue has nothing to do with election accuracy. It's a bookeeping issue not a vote accuracy issue. Again...no evidence of fraud and certainly no evidence of malfeasance.

Felons voting? Not the fault of the counties. That's a legislature issue.

The only people comparing Washington State to Chicago are the ill informed, frankly. Is Dino Rossi really worth setting aside all intellectuality and honest research?

Kevin,
Could you be more specific about just which question I failed to answer from torridjoe?
"Voter credit process"...that's a good one...could it be that's what you are referring to? Isn't that Logan-speak for total BS?

Wow... two days to answer TJ's questions and the response is?

(resounding silence)

Hmmm...

I was not talking about Democrats registering new Democrats, I was referring to them going door to door and only "fixing" the signatures of other Democrats in the Governor's race debacle. But you already knew that.
And as far as people who are out to register new voters....I don't care what party you are from....you are an American first, so ,personally, I think you should be willing to register anyone who is legally able to be registered and wants to vote......we aren't a warlord run country after all are we?

I recall hearing numerous reports from King county officials stating the facts as quoted in this article. I have not heard them deny it just try and make it look "not so bad." The court case will bring it all to the publics attention. Can't wait!

What about all the felons that voted?

Why wouldn't you expect Democratic Party workers to further the goals of the Democratic Party? I watched Republican Party affiliates refuse to register people they deemed likely to vote Democrat; so what? There's no law against registering the people you want to register (only against discarding registrations you've already collected--which unfortunately those same affiliates were apparently guilty of).

How do you know there were more votes than voters in King County? Are you privy to reconciliation numbers done immediately after the election? That would be great; I urge you to release them since no one else has them. I think you might be referring to the voter credit process, which has nothing to do with counting ballots.

What about the dead people that voted?
