Washington….Permanent State of Confusion………
Alas…it appears that this will be the new motto for Washington. Do you think it will fit on the license plate?
You can forget "The Evergreen State"…other states have trees too.
After reading the newspapers…a huge waste of time I might add….and reading all the election laws and reading everyone’s opinions [out there] I have come to the conclusion that no one in this State knows what the hell they are talking about.
Too blunt? Too bad…….
Why bother to vote at all if there are no guidelines and no one to enforce them? Why not just save a lot of money and just cut to the chase and let the idiots in King County decide for us the way they have been all along….only right up front. No more of this wiggling around and pretending to have an election. It’s silly…and it’s a waste of our time and money.
A classic example of how twisted things really have become is the case of Dr. Sosin who works for the CDC in Georgia yet votes here. Sure, there could be a legitimate reason for this….but I doubt it.
Could it be that Georgia is a red state and that makes Dr. Sosin feel a little blue? Who knows…and frankly at this point I don’t care. What I do know is that he is a federal employee at the CDC and is canceling out one of the legitimate citizens of Washington State’s votes with his….on your tax dollars. Seeing the problem yet?
Dr. Sosin isn’t some hapless schmo…Dr. Daniel M. Sosin is the Director of the Division of Public Health Surveillance and Informatics in the Epidemiology Program Office (EPO), at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. And contrary to what one [vapid] reader said in the comments on Soundpolitics about this…he is not out there on the front lines saving our lives from terrorists. And even if he were, would that legitimize his apparent violation of our laws? If so, maybe you just have much lower standards than I do.
Have any of you read the code of ethics for government service that Dr. Sosin has to follow ? Do you realize that Dr. Sosin has been, in all likelihood, voting for taxes ,levies and school bonds that he is not here to help pay for????
And then there is the forever classic statement that your state of residence is “just a state of mind”……are these people for real?
What is this…… ZEN 101?
Good grief….…have we all forgotten how to apply any common sense to anything? Or to anything our elected officials do???
And it begs the question….if we didn’t have the out of control absentee ballot system here in Washington, would Dr. Sosin and others like him be voting here illegally?
That’s probably a no.
And though it may seem unfair to judge an entire State by what two really dumb places like Olympia and Seattle are doing…that’s exactly what is happening whether you like it or not in people’s minds, all across the country. And every resident that does not stand up for what is right is complicit in that. We are now known as Florida west. It can, and will, get worse.
And this attitude that this whole election mess is just too complicated to fix is the height of idiocy. We have to fix it….and not the next time around either…..but now.
For whatever reason….there were 55,000 ballots altered by elections workers at a time when Dean Logan and others were busy telling the public that the elections department was swamped with just sorting and counting the ballots….yet they took time to, basically, vote 55,000 times?
They found new ballots time and time again. And, in the end there were more votes than voters in King County.
So, what’s so tough to understand?
Nothing………
What it comes down to is incompetence and perhaps fraud.
If this election, this complete travesty of an election, doesn’t rise to the level of one that needs to be thrown out…then none ever will….and we need to just strike the laws from the books once and for all.
Because if it is allowed to stand, the precedence it will set for future elections is chilling.
Absolutely chilling…………

As a former officer in the Navy, I know this does not pass the "smell test" of conduct befitting an "officer and a gentleman." Maintaining residency at a given location while you are on temporary assignment elsewhere is common procedure. Permanent duty in a location is another. At the very least he appears to have committed a felony in the Sate of Washington. I would not be surprised if federal law was not also violated! His ethics officer needs to investigate. – Job well done!
