Whirled Peas………..
Rebecca belongs to the group Students Against War.
And that, on the surface sounds like a really great idea….…who likes war? But this silly movement has been around for ever without ever getting anywhere…they have never stopped even one war. And even worse…they are selective in their opposition. No one marched in the streets carrying a sign that said Bill Clinton was a murderer when he took us into Kosovo, did they?
Even worse…they actually carried signs against Bush that said “No War …unless a Democrat is in the White House.”
Come on…try to be at least a little subtle here….really. It’s so hard to take anything you say seriously otherwise.
The anti war movement will never be successful because, unfortunately, it goes against human nature…..and it’s not actually a sincere movement about stopping war. It is all about people throwing political weight around. That’s all.
What is the first thing Rebecca and all her supposedly anti war friends did at the SCCC? They formed their own little army to surround, attack, and drive off the recruiters….and they are too young/naive to even realize what they did. They had a mini war against what they perceived to be intruders. Or in this case…it was someone else’s free speech……..
It’s a sad fact but true….basic human nature is more like an ant colony than anything else.
I was listening to her young and idealistic voice on the radio thinking it would be easier to take what she was saying seriously if I thought for even a moment that she was talking for herself. When you use a word like vehement and you don’t know how to pronounce it correctly….you are reading a script. Period……. it’s as simple as that.
Her handler should tighten up the strings on that little puppet a bit. Or better yet….let’s hope she does some serious growing up and stops letting herself be used by people with not-so-hidden agendas. I would much rather hear what she really has to say…..I’ll bet she has better ideas about how to make this country and this world a better place than the 60’s retreads that were pulling the strings and writing the talking points.
I guess Rebecca forgot that it was men like that recruiter that have given her the right to speak freely. Even the socialist hooey that she was parroting …that’s what the SAW is…a socialist organization.
She probably doesn’t even know that.
She should be really glad that she isn’t being ruled by Sharia Law…or she wouldn’t be talking at all…………..

I am greatly disturbed that so many of our youth are falling for the garbage the anti-war commies spew. I really thought we were past those 60's days, especially after Jane Fonda came forward and admitted she was misled. Apparently we are not, it seems the 60's cloud still hovers.

In Olympia, protesters stand in the park with signs that say "support the troops, oppose the war." They think they are being clever, but their hypocrisy was revealed when they protested the visit of the submarine "Olympia" because it was a killing machine. There really isn't any logic behind any of their positions. It is mostly based on hatred for Americans in the military.

We should at least require that schools that are using taxpayer money do their research on just WHO is on campus...group-wise......and then make the students who want to join the groups sign a release form so they are slightly aware of just who they are "playing" with.....and the background and history of these groups. Here we have sensitivity training for people who look sideways at someone ,yet Socialist orgs are running rampant on our campuses.Maybe there is a connection here in the the People's Republic of Seattle afterall, come to think of it.....Hmmmmm.....
I had to travel by train through a corner of East Berlin and the conducter [who looked an awful lot like he had once goosed stepped around and was intimidating as hell] stomped in and yelled at us in german and then jerked the window shade down....so we couldn't see out the window while we passed through.Rebecca and the other kids like her have no idea.........

I lived in West Berlin Germany from 1972 until 1976 and was allowed to visit East Berlin several times; I will never live like they did. May we should require people like Rebecca to live like they did for a couple of years that might change there thinking I know it changed mine.
