Culture of Death………

Is this what we have become? It seems so.
We make incredible medical advances, yet we continue to devalue life. As we have the ability to keep people alive longer and longer and prevent more and more diseases…and pregnancies I might add….. it seems as if our respect for life is going down the drain.
We seem to have the I’m a God syndrome going on here. If we can prevent diseases and prolong life and maybe even clone it? Well….doesn’t that make us gods?
No…it doesn’t.
I’m not even sure that it keeps us human.
We are, as a society, acting like the proverbial bull in the china shop.
Only it’s not china we are ruining ….it’s lives. We are allowing the “I-wouldn’t-want-to-live-that-way-ers” to speak for us all….and in the end, if we are not very careful, I believe it will be our downfall.
These are the same people that used to think that people with disabilities were less human than the rest of us. And here I thought they were gone for good.
Wrong.
They are just going by a new name. Where we once called them insensitive and ignorant a decade ago……they are now called biomedical ethicists.

Or progressive…which is code for I may change my mind any moment and you probably won’t like the outcome.
We have moved past “Tommy don’t stare at the crippled boy” to “Let’s just let him die…. because I wouldn’t want to live that way.”
And the side benefit of this is we don’t have to look at him or think about him either.
We don’t have to face that constant nagging reality check that life is finite and often icky….until it happens to us.
Too bad you can’t clone or replicate compassion…because I think that’s what society is really lacking these days.
Terri Schiavo is the victim of Judicial homicide. And all the politicians that pretended to try and help….that’s all they were doing …pretending. Too little too late.
Do you really think that Congress couldn’t have slapped Judge George “who?” Greer with contempt?
Of course they could have….but intestinal fortitude is something that is obviously lacking in our society too.
Read Mark Levin’s great book “Men in Black” and then check out these web sites and read all about what a nut George Felos is.
This is the man that is telling Judges like Greer what to do……..and he’s certifiable.

And then to lighten things up a bit while still making you think...check this out..........

I found this web site very enlightening. It is a list of characters involved in this case. please check it out and see if you can find all the links to Judge Greer. Campaign contributions, hospice connections, elected officials.
I am deeply concerned that this DEATH movement has been a dirty little secret for quite some time. We better do some investigating of our home town hospice centers.

Yes george.....and Dr. Kevorkian is in jail why?The people he killed at least ACTUALLY SAID that they wanted to die.....
Because here we have a Judge[greer] that is starving/dehydrating a woman to death in direct violation of many federal and state laws....and he was given an award from the bar association for his great work on this case! And we wondered why he wouldn't back down? Well...there is an even scarier connection here. Scientology.George Felos is a big fan....
good point you made....our heroes used to be doctors that saved lives.....not "harvested" them.

When I was growing up the doctors in the news were Jonas Salk, who helped develop the polio vaccine, Albert Schweitzer, running a medical clinic in equatorial Africa, and Benjamin Spock, the baby doctor.

Today we turned on the t.v. and one channel had two "end of life specialists" debating about how much pain the dying person will feel. On another channel it was pathologists talking about the planned autopsy, Dr. Michael Baden and Dr. Cyril Wecht. Dr. Baden got an especially big introduction from the host: "the man who has performed 14,000 autopsies."
