Our First “Village Idiot Of The Week”………
Julia Patterson, King County council woman, is our first Village Idiot Of The Week.
Today she was on the John Carlson show on KVI where she shared her views of Talk Radio and the election debacle.
She has some, errr, interesting takes on things………..
She believes firmly in free speech as long as it’s hers. And if it’s yours it should be carefully worded. Carefully worded? Hey Julia? Have you heard of the concept of free speech…accent on the free?
In Julia’s world, just talking about something being wrong is much worse than actually doing something wrong. And typical Leftie, her big retort to John Carlson when questioned about why she was so sure that there wasn’t any vote fraud in King County during the elections was “That’s like asking ‘When did you stop beating your wife?”
Gee…where oh, where have I heard that before? Maybe on some liberal websites……..or all of them?
Is this part of the talking points?
While trying to sound like the calm [annoying] voice of reason…she really came off as a haughty, know it all Leftie. She wants new legislation and town hall meetings to solve the problem…if it exists, that is. Wow…and here I thought we had legislation and laws that prevented vote fraud on the books already………
She stated that she will do everything she possibly can to fix all the problems in King County elections.
Okay…I’ll bite…fire Dean Logan.
And not just because of his ineptitude [or was it???] during the election…but because he said there were only 200,000 people in Pierce County. For that alone he should be fired…anyone that stupid shouldn’t be working in government service…we are full up with idiots already.
For instance…Julia Patterson herself. She made the classic statement that “What is really damaging to our Democracy is all this talk on talk radio about the fraud in King County”.
Not the fraud itself mind you….but talking about it.
So is she saying that fraud, or mistakes as she calls them won’t hurt our Democracy, but talking about it will?
And then she added that she is afraid that people will actually stop voting because they will lose faith in the system. Once again Julia…where have you been? Too late. Good people have lost faith in the system here.
Personally, I think that Julia is only worried that all the double voters and fraud committers will stop voting because they would be scared off by the scrutiny….but that’s just my opinion. I still have the right to that…even here in the people’s republic of Washington, right?
And of course her constant point that it was all just human error…and all made by those bumbling old fools that volunteer to work during an election. That’s smooth, Julia. Really. Way to work a crowd……..
And after that comment she went on to say that she is worried about how we all converse these days. It seems it’s too abrasive for her tastes….really? Has she called Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer with her concerns? Because Julia seems to be laboring under the delusion that all this abrasive talk is coming only from the right.
Yeah…right.
And she never really did explain why it was okay that 660 provisional ballots were fed directly into a machine in violation of the law. But there’s no fraud right? Those ballots leapt in there?
Come to think of it her reasoning was right up there with Paul Berendt’s when he made the statement that Christine Gregoire had been appointed/placed by God.
Are you sure there weren’t 666 provisionals?

Useful? Then Digg It.

Julia Patterson made a special effort to be so soft spoken and patient on the Carlson show. Deliberate or natural? I'd like to know because I think she has a different agenda. here are her exact words "Language of conflict" which meens, you republicans shouldn't say bad things about us Democrats (code word for we officials are smarter then you tax payers). Silence them, she says. Cendorship on the "talk show radios" LOL. Insert King Ron Sims, "excuse me, excuse me, gentlemen, I didn't interupt you, I expect some good home training" In other words, when Ron speaks, shut up and listen. Rons preacher training seems to have crowned him with the bully pulpit.

Julia was oozing psychobabble and made that ludicrous analogy about the National Enquirer printing that "Pres. Bush ate small children".
One of the main reasons that she came on was that she is campaigning. She deserves a little credit for subjecting herself to the light of cross-examination, but it was agonizing to listen to !
I just hope that Kirby will have the opportunity to interview and cut through her psychobabble, but it should be clear underneath it all, she is a blind partisan who is desperate to hang onto power and believes that the light of day on this election that is attempted to be shown is evil. She talks like she wants to listen to the other side, but my bet is that she'll revert to partisan rhetoric based on her initial emoting about "hate speech on talk radio" - I really question if she would like to quash free speech from the right.

christmasghost - I think you missed a bet when you failed to mention what I thought was the most egregious slander - when she attempted to make a point using a "Hypothetical" "Imagine reading in the Inquirer that President Bush eats babies", and then goes on to say that "One would "presume" that he doesn't actually do that"
Now if she was to claim that democrats like to eat their own feces - that would be OK, because we all know that they do....

There was some talk a few years back about Julia and her rental house in SeaTac. Apparently the renters were drug dealers, crack, if I recall correctly. The controversy was, did Julia know about it before she was called on to do something about it. Why is it when Democrats do it, it's ok?

No one...but no one that isn't already a "Locke"-step moron would have bought anything she said. She was only convincing as the voice of 'Big Brother' calmly explaining why we would all be lucky to have our free speech rights left after she got through with us......if she hadn't come off as such an idiot ,the whole conversation from her side would have been chilling......Lenin, here we come.......
People live in King County, why?
You hit the nail on the head with arrogant...she was oozing arrogant.

Oh Julia is in campaign mode. She is up for re-election in November. If she and her fellow democrats could, they would censor talk radio. This proves that it is effective! She is no more concerned about vote fraud than she is about absolute evidence of environmental damage in rural King County. She voted to take away rights from property owners. CAO was a partisan vote 7-6. Now all of a sudden she calls for bi-partisanship? We have already had town meetings on election reform, in fact the current laws just need to be enforced by King County. Sam Reed held town meetings, and they are not listening to the people. Sam Reed wants all mail in voting. John Carlson caught her on several errors, she says one thing and later said another. A typical liberal, Julia chants the same phrase repeatedly. A caller, Susan from Seattle, asked the passionate question, if it walks like a duck…..it probably is a duck. However, Julia, the democrat, needs proof, DNA samples maybe?
Julia is trying to appear concerned in hopes that her constituents will buy her BS and re-elect her. I hope the KC Republicans will seize this opportunity to de-throne yet another arrogant, member of the King County monarchy.
