God Is Not Spelled M-O-N-E-Y………
We all know them.
They are the people that give religion a bad name. And they are usually the most vocal. I have noticed that the people that proclaim their religious faith the loudest, with very few exceptions, are the most base, appalling soul-less beings on this planet.
I am thinking of one very wealthy person I know that thinks he is God’s chosen son, who on a regular basis, roars by homeless people in his big SUV while sneering at “the losers”…his words not mine. This guy thinks that because he has money and attorneys he can do anything and get away with it.
So far he has……..
He has torn apart families, destroyed small businesses so he could grab the assets, sued people into bankruptcy so he could buy their property at fire sale prices, cheated and lied in contracts, and destroyed people’s lives because he perceives that they don’t respect him enough.
DUH…….. Respect him for what?I didn't realize there was a human-weazel shortage in the world.
Oh…and I can't forget to mention that he says God talks to him all the time.
That’s right…you read it right.
God never spoke to Mother Teresa but he is taking time out from his busy schedule to give business advice to a greedy grasping little man.
Yeah ……..right.
And yes, he is in church every Sunday ….but he obviously hasn’t been paying attention.Probably too busy running those numbers God gave him..........
So…how many of these people do you know, and how do you deal with them?
It’s not just religion they are giving a bad name to….it’s humanity.

An excellent reminder for humility in all things.
God allows all things; sinners to be exhalted and the pious to be humbled. The example of Job comes to mind.
You have a beautiful blog without a hint of the fatuousness and debauchery so prevalent elsewhere.
Bravo!

Money and power is not always the root, like you said CG it is our actions. I do know someone personally that has more than enough money but it is his belief in God and his religious roots that keep him and his family grounded.
I have also met people that have the money and fit the description of the person you have in mind to a tee.
We all must remember it is not the money or the power in the end it is our actions that we will judged by

God nor churches teach us to devalue human life. No descent American should treat another human being as if they are of lesser value than ourself. Afterall what does the Declaration of Independence say...."...all men are created equal and endowed by their creator." we are human beings, not upon birth. that is where our human dignity comes from. It comes from the Creator. It is an endowment, not an achievement.
We are to live good full lives. Filled with love and happiness. Demanding others to give up that happiness so they can have it, as if for their temporary pleasure, is robbing them of the most precious gift of all, Life.
The down trodden need our help, we should not disgard them as if they no longer have value. We should offer them a hand. To do anything less is not representation to Gods word.
Many people drive around with a fish on their car & they carry a big bible to church. But they may never behave anywhere near to what those things represent.
I would tell this Rhino that God can not be for and against the same thing at the same time.
