House Passes Gas…..tax

This was the title of a news report. It would be funny except that it is all too true.
But is it really a surprise?
There has been nothing but hot air that carries a stench coming from Olympia ever since the Queen Governor was installed as the latest Democrat to rule Washington State.
If the Democrats have all the answers and have done such a wonderful job here, why are there so many unresolved problems? Problems few other states have at this level?
They can’t do their job protecting children, they can’t keep spending in check, they can’t do anything without raising taxes, and most of all they can’t have an election that isn’t rife with fraud.
And I’m not even beginning to touch on the problems with the high school drop out rate or the fact that Washington rates down near the bottom in quality of healthcare.
So if this state is so full of brilliant, capable people and the Democrats have all the answers…….why are very few things working as they should?
If they want to raise taxes, why not have a billionaire tax. That’s right, just the billionaires. Let’s see how fast they would be switching parties………..

Frankly, I’m tired of being lectured by Bill Gates and his dad……especially since they pay taxes at a rate that we could all envy…….
And for the party of the common man, the Democratic Party sure does love its rip off artist rich guys. Kerry married it, Teddy’s family were bootleggers, and Bill? Well, read all about his business practices before you get all warm and fuzzy about him or his intentions.
Just because someone made a lot of money, often at other people’s expense, does not make them a sage in the social engineering department.
But isn’t it funny that Democrats, while claiming they are for the common man, will take anything a really rich man says as absolute wisdom?
But then again, maybe it’s because they both love to get something for nothing………

Great post Christmas Ghost! I found it highly offensive that Gates Sr. was lecturing us about both an income tax and an estate tax. He's a dope anyway. Bill Jr got his smarts from his mother.

I think a billionaire tax would be a great idea, by the way. It is interesting how Democrats love kissing up to the super rich. I think they vision they really have is for the US to look more an more like Mexico and other latin american countries. A super rich class, a super poor class, and no middle class.

For example, take a look at Seattle. The demographics of Seattle are very different from the rest of the country, and the city already looks like a latin american country. There are the very rich, and the very poor, and your basic middle class family can't afford to live in Seattle. Massive car tab taxes, high property taxes, etc ... it all adds up. In fact, I think that is by design, because the Democrats don't want hard working middle class people living in Seattle. That group doesn't tend to be dependent on the government for anything.

the dems think they can solve problems with more money. the record on that score is poor.

dems also think that tax monies from businesses are "free" as it doesn't hurt THEIR voters / supporters. wrong again: our state's tax system is antibusiness and this means fewer good jobs than would be the case with a more enlighted legislature and governor.

WA is blessed by great ports, agriculture, forests and some gifted individuals who grew up here and returned. there is little reason for our state not to be great educationally and economically. what are we known for instead? Boeing headquarters moving out and "model elections". with better leadership, WA can achieve its potential to be a great state. this will require a change in thinking. and that means a change in which party runs the state.

exactly bob.......haven't you wondered why we are always hearing on the news about some kid whose family cannot AFFORD a medical procedure....and yet where is billy? where are the democrats?
oh that's right...he's busy solving the aids problem in india where he just happens to be outsourcing jobs as fast as he can.
and the democrats are too busy raising taxes and playing at social engineering to ever get anything done.

In my opinion the problem is a typical democratic problem, keep spending more money and sooner or later they believe that the problem will be solved. What actually happens is that all of us get taxed in to oblivion, Government gets larger and the problem is still not solved.

We need to get rid of the democrats and then keep them out and if Bill Gates and his Dad are so eager to give away money let them finance the viaduct the schools and anything else Queen Gregoire and he court wants.
