Seattle’s Real Claim To Fame…………
As most of you already know, bashing Seattle and its silly stance on everything is one of my pet projects. And not because I’m mean….but just because they deserve it so much.
Well…I finally discovered the one thing that Seattle can really claim as its very own invention.
Skid row………
Yup….I’m not kidding ,and a lot of you Seattle natives probably already know this….which makes it even more interesting that in your desperate search for an identity for Seattle….you fail to mention it. So instead of holding fake mardi gras or pretending to be the “city by the bay”….why not just embrace your real roots?
Skid row…..aka yesler way.
You already have the obnoxious bums so why not just have an obnoxious bum day celebrating your real roots…..skid row.
You invented it…why am I not surprised…..so embrace it.
You know what they say….there is nothing quite so classy as being exactly what you really are.
Skid row.
What could you call the celebration? Skid row…not just for bums anymore?
Be sure to bring your own thunderbird….

eastern oregon and far southern [although even that is changing fast] are just full of decent people.

jc bob......did you not read the highlighted part of the post,hmmm? as with alot of things the name started out as skid road...the log skids and morphed to skid row. this is the place where that first happened....i would think crazy seattle-ites[we wanna be just like everywhere else] would be thrilled to actually have something that was really invented here.
so they could stop trying so desperatelty to take credit for everything they had nothing to do with...
so ,maybe, you didn't read everything in the post?

On of the more stupid posting I have ever seen.
First of all, it is NOT skid ROW it is skid ROAD. The path Henry Yesler used to drag (skid) logs down from First Hill to his saw mill in what is now Pioneer Square.
As far as making fun of Seattle, I have no problem; Seattleites including my sister and especially my brother-in-law deserves every bit of ridicule you can heap upon them.
