It's All Our Fault..........Really.
We make our government lie to us. We really do….and I can prove it.
I started thinking about this after watching the TV show "Numbers". The episode was about an outbreak of the 1917 pandemic flu strain….in modern day Los Angeles. I thought ‘can you imagine what would happen if this were a real situation, in real time, and they told us the truth’…..can you imagine?
Can you see the panic, anger and looting?
Especially the looting, because as we have all seen in the recent past nothing, but nothing, soothes a hurt like stealing TV’s.
We act like children and so we continue to force our government to lie to us.
What if we all grew up a little and were able to hear the truth and not act like fools.
What if?
Sometimes things happen that are just not anyone’s fault. Like the flu. What if our government officials could tell us the truth and we would just automatically do exactly what we should do?
Take exactly what was really the best; least selfish and most compassionate actions…do what was best for all of us.
Can you imagine?
Sadly………..I can’t.
And if you can, let me take it to the next level.
What if it were a biological attack…a deliberate attack…..an attack that was really someone’s fault?
Would we be able to not attack each other but instead the people that were really responsible? And could we all stand together? And not out of fear…....but just because it felt, and was, the right thing to do?
Now…can you imagine that?
You are probably thinking “Oh for cripes sake…that was just a TV show”.
And you’re right…it was.
But sometimes the most innocuous things can make us think…really think.
Now, I would love to hear someone, anyone ,tell me that in today’s overly entitled and whiney culture that in a really bad situation people would pull together like they used to.
If you can imagine this…..you have a much better imagination than I do……..

I think that we did pull together after 9-11 we did not blame each other and we did blame the actual criminals. We worked together for long hours under miserable conditions to help each other.
But that only lasted a couple of days and then sadly we whined we looted and we blamed each other.
I tried CG but sadly you are right, I don’t believe that we could ever pull together like we used to

thanks jay. what really started me thinking about it was watching all the libs on their soapboxes [think nancy pelosi here] blaming everyone in our government for what other people had done.
it has become group think now in the US sadly...i hope if we all shine the light on that, maybe things will change.

Right-on!! What is really sick is that one group would try and take political advantage of such a situation. Remember it is "our fault" that 9/11 happened. Instead of looking at a situation rationally the finger pointing would begin.
