William F. Buckley Jr.…..Rest In Peace…..

WmBuckley.png

What a sad day for every true, thinking conservative everywhere.
I grew up listening to William F. Buckley Jr. and his biting wit and immense intellect were always enlightening....and very entertaining. With immense grace, along with his twinkling sly smile, he would deal death blows to stupid ideas and even more stupid people without ever stooping to their level. What a genius!
The world is truly a less informed place without him........

Obama + Clinton = Nothing...........

As Bill Clinton devolves into a shrill ludicrous parody that resembles more an angry Q-tip than a former president, you almost have to feel sorry for him. After all, it’s his own tricks that are being used against him. But, as he is now discovering, much to his dismay, it doesn’t matter if you are right, it doesn’t matter if what you are saying is true, what matters is how it appears. The politics of personal destruction and the spinning twisting chimera that is Clintonian politics have now turned against its creator …and in a big way.
In a Frankenstein sort of way.
Now,as much as I am enjoying this spectacle and what the implications are…I have to admit that I feel sorry for Hillary. After all she did the time. She really did. She stood by the cheating lying Jethro Bodine wanna-be and she thought there would be a big payoff in the end. But sadly, the payoff is not what she expected….at all.
But that is what happens when you create a monster. And make no mistake about it that is what the Clintons did. They destroyed modern politics and left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Not just Monica’s.
Oh, come on…you know I couldn’t resist that one.
I am old enough to remember when politics were not like this. Back before the Clintons, when decent people could agree to disagree and there were eloquent discussions of politics around dinner tables and you didn’t have to hire a bouncer to sit in between republicans and democrats. Ah…the good old days.
And I am probably not alone in thinking that we were all going to be stuck with this new age political nightmare forever.
But then, a funny thing happened on the way to the democratic convention.
The democrats were all aghast at Bill’s antics and were overheard saying such things as “Maybe this is what the republicans were talking about. Maybe we just didn’t see it before.”
Gee…ya think?
And it gets better……….
Because even though the regular democrats, and I am not talking about the far left here, but regular democrats [versus the liberals which are as ‘irregular” as a French verb] were finally seeing the light, the rest of us knew we still had to deal with a very dangerous Trojan horse of a politician.….. Barack Obama.
And then, in steps Michelle Obama, foot in mouth….to save the day with her “This is the first time I have ever been proud of my country” statement.
It is so seldom that the cure for a disease is also a disease and they cancel each other out…but I think we are witnessing that very scenario here.
We can only hope that the democrats will now see the light once again , this time preemptively, before it is too late.
Because with Barack Obama, if he gets into the white house, make no mistake about it, it will be too late for this country.
And there won’t be any do overs either……..
