As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted
to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for
about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with
you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof
vehicle,
got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the
commander here at Bagram.As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand he blew
them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room
to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the
ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play
basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity
pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to
Soldiers to thank them for their service.So really he was just here to make a showing for the
American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that
if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you
would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are
providing for you.I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players
or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators,
who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't
understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was
almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom
for him and our great country.If this is blunt and to the point I am
sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he

Drill Here….Drill NOW!
It was 1969 and the Santa Barbara oil spill that started the whole never-drill-again-movement also known as G.O.O. [get oil out] happened.
As a native Californian that has spent most of her life living in coastal areas of course I was concerned. Even though at that time I was only thirteen I was already doing wildlife rescue and learning everything I could from my mentors on the subject Mrs. Terwilliger and, of course, my dad.
Since my aunt and uncle lived in Newport Beach and my grandmother lived in Laguna Beach I spent most summers down south with them at the beach surfing and just generally laying the groundwork for the skin cancer that I was going to get later.
Ah well….hindsight and all that……….
But it was the sun that got me…not the oil. We should all take a deep breath and start doing some research before we do the Chicken Little dance about the perils of drilling.
First of all….how many of you know this little fact:
“Between 11 and 160 barrels of oil are released into the water from a natural seep on the ocean floor in the Coal Point area.”
That’s from just one seep kids….one.
And this has been going on for eons. It’s a natural occurrence, as is petroleum.
And we are all supposed to like natural right?
Then there is this gem of information:
Since offshore drilling began the actual amount of oil seeping into the water naturally has declined…because of the drilling.
So there you have it….not only is drilling necessary for us humans it also helps restrict how much oil is naturally seeping into the ocean.
And by the way….G.O.O. ,the organization that started the whole never-drill-again movement is now for, yup you read it right, for drilling offshore.

It made many concessions to the local environmental groups, and in the end even the adamantly "no-drilling" crowd agreed that the deal was beneficial for everyone. The Environmental Defense Center, a nonprofit environmental law firm, endorsed the plan. Abe Powell, president of GOO!, told the Los Angeles Times it was "good for the community." Terry Leftgoff, a former GOO! executive director, wrote in the Santa Barbara Independent the deal was "a brilliant proposal that finally gives the public something back: the certain removal of four offshore oil platforms, the decommissioning of a notorious industrial plant, and the reversion of rural land subjugated into oil development back into the public trust as parkland."
When an environmental group formed for the sole purpose of opposing offshore oil drilling warmly embraces a plan to drill off its own coast, you know something important has changed in our culture: Americans have recognized that offshore oil drilling is largely safe.
Since 1975, drilling in the Exclusive Economic Zone (within 200 miles of the U.S. coast) has had a 99.999 percent safety record, according to the Energy Information Administration, which reports that "only .001 percent of the oil produced has been spilled."
That’s right…a safety record of 99.999%
Name one other industry that gives us all so much and yet has a safety record that good.
I dare you.
A lot of things have changed since 1969…technology for instance. The only things that don’t seem to have changed are the “activists”. But then you can’t have everything. As I have said many times in the past how can you please a group of people that , if you saved a man from a burning building they would point out “yeah, but his shoes are untied…”
Well, nature is ever changing as are most things in this life so I guess,*snark*, it’s “good” to have at least one constant we can always count on. Even if it’s only the constant whine of the human no no’s………

In a week just full of depressing news I needed this next one like a hole in the head.
Brit Hume is stepping down from Special Report@ Fox News at the end of this year.
This was the only program I could stomach on Fox since they killed off E.D. Hill, John Gibson and anyone else who showed a depth of intelligence beyond that of the average moonbat.
O’Reilly is a loudmouthed inarticulate moron that speaks only in white ebonics, think “For da folks…” gag.
Hannity and Colmes are just a test doctors use to see if you really do have acid reflux or you have really just been watching way too much of the above mentioned shows.
And Greta “where’s the tragedy” Van Susteren? Oh please…I can’t take any Scientologist seriously……especially one whose husband is one of Scientology's biggest lawyers.
What do you want to bet that Rupert “Obama is a rock star” Murdoch has not only joined Georgey Soro’s anti American and non American billionaire boys club…but that as a final blow will put Geraldo Rivera in Brit’s spot?

Tony Snow.....R.I.P.
What an extremely sad day. Tony Snow has lost his valiant fight against cancer. He was only 53 when he passed away.

In their revelation of the impending lawsuit against them leveled by Mohammed Sawalha, they write:
Mr Sawalha claims that we have “chosen a malevolent interpretation of a meaningless word”. In fact, we did no more than translate a phrase which appeared in an Al Jazeera report of Mr Sawalha’s speech. When Al Jazeera changed that phrase from “Evil Jew” to “Jewish Lobby”, we reported that fact, along with the statement that it had been a typographical error.
Mr Sawalha has been the prime mover in a number of Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood associated projects. He is President of the British Muslim Initiative. He is the past President of the Muslim Association of Britain. He was the founder of IslamExpo, and is registered as the holder of the IslamExpo domain name. He is also a trustee of the Finsbury Park Mosque….
…Mr Sawalha says that the attribution of the phrase “Evil Jew” to him implies that he is “anti-semitic and hateful”. Notably, he does not take issue with our reporting of the revelation, made in a Panorama documentary in 2006, that he is a senior activist in the clerical fascist terrorist organisation, Hamas.
It looks like Harry’s Place is going up against some pretty top-notch lawyers on this one, and they’ve got guts, but as the post goes on to say:
If Mr Sawalha persists in attempting to silence us with this desperate legal suit, we will need your help.
We won’t be able to stand up to them alone.

Barack Hussein Hubris Obama is an amazingly dense politician. He isn’t the brainiac that the moonbats want you to think he is…..he is actually a very incompetent, almost moronic, and sadly pathetic little man who changes his mind more often than his underwear.
If he were to get elected [not likely] he would definitely be changing his underwear more often after the Iranians and all the other “people” that he thinks are his friends got through with him. Unlike the moonbats who swoon at his every move…even the obviously pandering ones…the Iranians, the North Koreans and the Venezuelans will not be fooled, nor deterred, by mincing “pretty” words from an inexperienced and just plain stupid politician.
Especially one that is quite obviously so flawed with mommy-issues that he allows his wife to tell him what to do.
I think we all know who wears the pants in that family and it sure isn’t little Barry……..
We already had one testicle crusher in the white house and we all know how that turned out.

Barack Hussein Obama's latest commie idea.........
Just as we teach math and writing, arts and athletics, we need to teach young Americans to take citizenship seriously.[too bad you aren't even a real citizen Barry] Study after study shows that students who serve [Just not in the military or ROTC, right?] do better in school, are more likely to go to college, and more likely to maintain that service[also known as forced labor] as adults. So when I'm President, I will set a goal for all American middle and high school students to perform 50 hours of service a year, and for all college students to perform 100 hours of service a year.[In other words...I am going to force my will upon you as if this is....hmmm, I don't know...China or Kenya?] This means that by the time you graduate college, you'll have [become a slave of my new and not-so-improved "American" government] done 17 weeks of service.We'll reach this goal in several ways.[I will make you or else. Perhaps a little stay in jail???] At the middle and high school level, we'll make federal assistance conditional [Ahhh...that's how I'll force you to do it] on school districts developing service programs, and give schools resources to offer new service opportunities. At the community level, we'll develop public-private partnerships so students can serve more outside the classroom.
Americans...wake up! This man is not only dangerously stupid and entitled ...he isn't American. Grok the fullness of that.....
I perhaps may have added some needed commentary in there...somewhere. If you are smart enough to not vote for this creep you'll probably figure it out...otherwise....oh well....
