Reason # #498752 why I LOVE Texas!!
This will hopefully become a good trend. I can't think of one single union that even leans right on accident, let alone donates almost exclusively to Conservative candidates. Not saying they aren't out there, just that I can't recall one.
Once upon a time, unions were a good thing. They made sure that a guy working an extra 50 hours overtime got paid for it. They made sure that if you got hurt while doing your job, the company has to help make it right. Now we have laws that guarantee that a worker can not be threatened or exploited.
Now it's the Union's job to do that. Unions have been attacking Wal-Mart for years, trying to force their way in. Wal-Mart refused, as is their right; it's their company. Then there is the Card Check thing, which would end private ballots in union elections...so the thugs will know EXACTLY who to go after. Unions did more to kill the US auto industry than any foreign competitor ever dreamed of, and it was the union leaders that made out like bandits when Obama pillaged GM and Chrysler. Thanks to teachers' unions, there are dozens of teachers who should have been fired, from incompetence to charges of sexual misconduct with minors, the unions in New York have made it so no teacher can be fired for ANY reason. So instead, they sit in a little room every day, doing crossword puzzles, reading, writing, looking for other jobs, while still drawing a paycheck. Unions also keep merit-based pay from coming about; are you Teacher of the Year, with 100% of your students passing with straight A's WITHOUT CHEATING, able to turn Jethro Bodines into Stephen Hawkings in one semester? Well too bad; you aren't getting paid any better than the dipstick down the hall who constantly calls in sick, lets their students wander the campus, and probably has less knowledge of their chosen field of study than half the kids in his/her class. As a matter of fact, if the deadbeat has been working at that school longer than you, then s/he is probably getting paid MORE.
Unions suxx. Nuff said. K THX BAI!
