Birth to Preschool

Because your mother chose to bed a knave, she alone is raising you. She may have some support from her parents, but most likely the help they can offer is minimal. Your mother returns to Big Nanny Government for help. Food stamps, unemployment checks, and free medical care for you, all from the pockets of those who were more careful in their decisions than her. But that's all right; she is a Glorious Single Mother, praised and encouraged by the media, lauded as an unsung hero, even though they're singing pretty loudly. Never mind that more than 70% of all the criminals currently residing in prisons across our country are the result of single motherhood. Never mind that more and more children of single mothers are less and less successful in life, and tend to repeat their mother's foolish decisions.

And you get to grow up seeing your mother accept charity day by day. You grow on government cheese. From here, you do not have a good example of sound decision-making. Nor do you have a foundation in solid work ethic; your mother is collecting a check from the government instead of working; if you play your cards right, you can too!

If your mother does work, it is probably only part-time, and rarely in a job she likes. You get to grow up hearing your mother curse her job, which teaches you that work is bad. Much better to just collect that check. Meanwhile, you spend more time in front of the television than in your mother's lap.

Once upon a time, shows like Sesame Street were fairly innocuous; they taught letters and reading, numbers, and a bit of geography, so your mother thinks nothing of setting you down to watch that and similar shows. What your mother doesn't realize is that these shows have since been co-opted by politicians. You watch Sesame Street and see them make a parody of Fox News. You're not old enough to understand it, but one thing is clear, Fox News is bad. That little nugget will stay in your mind as you get older.

Other shows are worse. Your mother thinks that because it's the Disney Channel, the shows will just be simple entertainment. Mickey and Minnie, and Donald up to his usual crabby behavior. She doesn't realize that many of the new shows, both cartoon and live-action, depict the heroes being thoroughly obnoxious and utterly disrespectful to their parents and teachers. Rarely are they punished for it. And the laugh track added in teaches the child that this behavior will be rewarded. Taking your cue from these shows, you begin to misbehave. You aren't really trying to cause problems; you're trying to make Mommy laugh, like those people on TV.

Your mother doesn't understand why you are suddenly misbehaving and acting so strangely. Someone will eventually suggest that maybe there is something wrong with you. Immediately, your mother will behave differently around you. You get confused, why isn't Mommy laughing like she's supposed to? Your behavior does not improve. Chances are, your mother will then take you to a child psychologist, once again paid for by the government. Chances are, that doctor will prescribe a medicine that you do not need and will not help. Some of these medicines will CAUSE the problems they are supposed to cure. Some of those medicines can cause so deep a depression in children that kids as young as NINE commit suicide.

But again, for the sake of the narrative, let's not go further down that path. We will simply leave it that you have learned the wrong behaviors from these shows. You have also begun your indoctrination into left-wing politics. Nick Jr, the most innocent of all the so-called children's channels, does not run product advertisements. Most of what the show on their commercial breaks are ads for their other shows, and little learning games and songs. But one particular advertisement has crept in.

The channel's mascot, Moose A. Moose, is now preaching the wonders of recycling. There is, of course, nothing wrong with wanting the world to be a cleaner place, but not all recycling is good for the environment. To date, the only recycling that does more good than harm is recycling metal. The processes and chemicals required to break down plastic and paper are far more harmful to the environment than simply leaving the plastic and paper in a landfill.

Towards the end of this indoctrination, it is discovered that Zee, Moose's little blue bird friend, put one of Moose's collector cups in with the recycling. At first Moose is upset, but then he realizes that he never really uses the cup anyway. Moose then gives it to the Recycling Bear, who says he was needing it for his collection.

Cute, but illogical. Moose gives up his cup because he doesn't use it, and gives it to someone else...who will not use it. There was no point to the exchange; the cup is still not being used, and Moose is guilted into giving his property away.

You aren't yet old enough to understand the many problems with this, but that's all right. You will still remember it, which is exactly the point. It's all a part of the softening process to get your mind ready for school.

From CNN, and lord knows I don't cite CNN often.

Washington (CNN) – A majority of Americans think the federal government poses a threat to rights of Americans, according to a new national poll.

Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they think the federal government's become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens. Forty-four percent of those polled disagree.

The survey indicates a partisan divide on the question: only 37 percent of Democrats, 63 percent of Independents and nearly 7 in 10 Republicans say the federal government poses a threat to the rights of Americans.

I don't like polls. I find that they are far too heavily relied on, and they can be very easily skewed, simply by cherry-picking respondents and asking misleading questions. But given that this is a CNN poll, a network that clearly showed bias before, during, and after the 2008 election, I'm tending towards listening to this one.

56%. A higher margin than Obama won to become leader of the free world. Obama only won by 7%, and yet the left likes to call it a landslide, a mandate from the masses. Okay, fine. By all means then, let's call that a landslide. So what shall we make of a 12% difference in this poll? Is this not a landslide? Is this not a mandate?

Well over half the country believes that our government poses an IMMEDIATE DANGER to us. This poll means that over half the country DOES NOT TRUST that the current administration has our best interests in mind. I can not believe that any of those 56% believe that a government that is a danger to them trusts that same government with health care, or Cap and Trade, Stimulus, Porkulus, Jobulus, ANY of it.

There is going to be a major change, come November. As I have said before, and this poll certainly leads me to believe I'm on the money, 2010 is going to be a really bad year to be a Democrat or Republican incumbent. Those folks need to start polishing their resumés. They've lost touch with the American people; perhaps they'll get to know a few of them better when they're in the Unemployment line.

Unless you really stop and think about it, it's easy to miss just how deeply the liberal/progressive/socialist/communist movement has embedded itself into our lives and altered the fabric of our country. We often talk about how badly biased the media is, or the rampant liberalism of Hollywood, or the corruption in our government, or the steady decline of education, but rarely to do we put it all together.

Two reasons for this, as best as I can figure. One, it's depressing as hell. Two, the sheer scope of it makes War and Peace look like a fortune cookie. As any blogger can tell you, articles that run overlong tend to be overlooked. So I will try to break this down into sections, covering the life of a person whom I will refer to as “You.” I'm not implying that you, dear reader, are the subject of this article, I'm just doing it to drive home a point; this is what liberalism offers you. Second Person narrative tends to bring the reader further into the story, personalizing it even though the reader may have nothing whatsoever in common with the “You” in the story.

* * *

Conception to Birth

You are conceived. No need to go into the gory details about that.

Hopefully, your parents are married and in love, and financially stable enough to afford the blessing of a baby. All too often though, this is not the case. Most likely, you were conceived out of wedlock. Most likely, you were not planned.

In all likelihood, one of the first things that happened when you were discovered was that someone suggested you be aborted. This may have been a friend, maybe even a parent. Planned Parenthood and NARAL have worked very hard over the past 30-40 years to make sure your mother KNEW that she had a “choice.” The media certainly helped get that point across; why should a woman have to endure such a huge change to her lifestyle when a simple medical procedure can take all those troubles away.

They neglect to mention that all those “troubles” are a human being who will be killed as a result of that “choice.” Unfortunately, there are many doctors out there who are all-too willing to suggest abortion if there is even the slightest chance that there is something wrong with you. They also fail to mention that by freaking your mother out in such a way, they increase the chance that there WILL be something wrong with you. Your mother's stress levels have a huge impact on your development in the womb.

They also fail to mention that the reason abortion is an option is because of the efforts of a woman named Margaret Sanger. Your mother probably never heard of her, and if she did, Sanger was most likely praised as a defender of women's rights. What they omit is that Sanger was a eugenicist, who believed that only the wealthy, healthy white folk deserved reproductive rights. Any of less affluent background, less educated, maybe not quite healthy enough in either body or mind, or a member of what she termed the “weed” races needed to be, in her opinion, aborted and sterilized.

Your father, in the current scenario, is certainly of little help. He has almost no say whatsoever in whether or not you should be born. He may not even want that say; he may be a cad and not wish to have his lifestyle cramped by a child. He may even be the first to suggest you be aborted. He certainly isn't interested in marrying your mother; he's still got some wild oats to sow. He doesn't want to be stuck paying child support for the next 18 years either.

It also doesn't help that our current President feels that your mother shouldn't be “punished” for making a mistake. Thankfully, you aren't yet old enough to understand that the leader of the free world considers a baby a punishment. Thankfully, you don't know yet that this same President fought to preserve the practice of partial birth abortion and the infanticide of a child who managed to survive that ghastly procedure.

But for the sake of this article, we will assume the best; that your mother chose not to kill you. You are born. Your mother probably hasn't the money for the doctors, but that's all right. The government takes the hard earned money from others to make sure the doctor is paid only thirty percent of what the procedure costs. The doctor will make up the difference by increasing what he charges to those who aren't on the government's “charity” list and thereby cause an economic crisis for which you will have to pay when you are old enough to earn a living. Congratulations! You're only two seconds out of the womb and already a hundred grand in debt.

From the AP:

A bitterly divided Supreme Court vastly increased the power of big business and unions to influence government decisions Thursday by freeing them to spend their millions directly to sway elections for president and Congress.
The ruling reversed a century-long trend to limit the political muscle of corporations, organized labor and their massive war chests. It also recast the political landscape just as crucial midterm election campaigns are getting under way.
In its sweeping 5-4 ruling, the court set the stage for a wave of likely repercussions -- from new pressures on lawmakers to heed special interest demands to increasingly boisterous campaigns featuring highly charged ads that drown out candidate voices.

Perhaps it's my own naivete, but why in the hell are BUSINESSES contributing to campaigns? Do businesses vote? Do they have voter registrations? Does some guy go to the booth and say “Hi, my name is Wal-Mart. I'll be voting today.”?

PEOPLE vote. PEOPLE have driver's licenses. PEOPLE register.

If a guy owns a business or several businesses, he is still ONE VOTE. The people who work for him are their own individual votes.

End the limitation on PEOPLE contributing to campaigns, and remove BUSINESSES from it altogether. If I want to contribute a million dollars to a candidate, then I should be able to do so. Restricting me to $2500 while allowing Soros to divert millions from his various businesses, unions extorting millions from their members then handing it to whomever THEY choose, regardless of the wishes of the members themselves, makes no sense. If Soros wants to contribute a million dollars, let it come from his own pocket.

No tax deductions, no loopholes, no BS. Make it a straight transaction, just like buying groceries.

Here's my CFR: Give as much as you want, if you are a human being and a legal citizen of this country, and not currently serving a prison term. Period.

If anyone out there can make a legitimate argument in favor of businesses contributing to campaigns, I'd love to hear it.
